...from Pratt's Creative Enterprise Leadership International Graduate Programs in Design Management and Arts and Cultural Management.

Gather with alumni, faculty and our Catalyst community for a learning adventure in Italy where we will explore...

This year we resume our leader learning journeys! We will travel together to Italy to continue our exploration of how creative enterprise leaders shape futures in a rapidly changing world.

Why Italy? The Italian Republic is the world's ninth biggest economy with limited raw materials and energy supplies. Sixty-eight percent of the country's employed population is engaged in the design and delivery of services. Creating and connecting is critical to the wellbeing of its people, culture, and commercial exchanges.

We will visit with people who are committed to leading as if life matters and transitioning to sustainable methods of sourcing, producing, distributing, and sharing and caring. Food will be our focus, but we will explore more broadly into how the arts, architecture, and design have historically sustained Italy and continue to do so.

We invite you to adventure with us and to learn with us as we travel, talk, and take the time to be with each other in conversation, fortified with some of the best food in the world.

All we need is you!

This excursion is not for the faint of heart. Our days will be very busy, we will spend most of our time together as a group. While we will take breaks and have some solo down time, that is not the main goal of our trip or the best use of our time. Instead, the aim is to discover together, uncover as we go, stay flexible and open-minded, and most importantly, to participate fully.

Terms, Conditions, and FAQs:

Traveling safely is the top priority - for you and us - and means that everyone needs to do their part. It is important that you know the details of your Leader Learning Journey booking and agreement, including what to expect and prepare for.

The travel policies for this Leader Learning Journey are found below, along with some common FAQs. These cover our current policies on payments, refunds, travel requirements, and more.

The following policies form the booking conditions of your Leader Learning Journey agreement. Please read them carefully as they set out our respective rights and obligations. By asking us to confirm your booking, we will assume that you have read these booking terms and conditions and agree to them.

  • Booking your spot - Deposits and Payments:

    • Your spot is held as soon as you make your payment - either a 50% deposit or your full trip fee. Deposits need to be made by December 15, 2022, and the remaining balance must be paid before January 31, 2023. Full payments are required after January 31, 2023.

    • If for any reason, the balance (including any charges, where applicable) is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as canceled by you and open your spot for someone else.

    • The price quoted for this trip covers the cost of the planning, organization, and carrying out of the trip, including group equipment, supplies, accommodation, administration, and staff. It excludes the following, for which you must be responsible: all necessary vaccination records and fees, travel insurance, cost of travel to and from the start / return point of your trip (including your international flights), cost of passport and visas, personal equipment and personal expenses while on the trip (including solo meals, shopping, and optional activities), and any other expenses specifically excluded on the trip description.

  • Cancellations and Refunds:

    • If you choose to cancel your trip, that request must be sent in writing. Any cancellation will be subject to the following cancellation charges, regardless of your reason for canceling:

      • Before February 28, 2023 - Partial refund, 50% total trip fee charge
      • After February 28, 2023 - No refund, 100% total trip fee charge

    • All cancellation charges apply regardless of your reasons for canceling - including COVID-related reasons, which need to be covered by your own insurance.

    • Please note that the point of this trip is education, not profit-making. So we will do our best to take into account personal needs and extenuating circumstances where we can. In the case of an unexpected cancellation, if your spot can be filled and covered by someone else or existing bookings are flexible, we will do our best to make adjustments to cancellation fees on a case-by-case basis. However, we cannot guarantee any flexibility, so by reserving your spot you are agreeing to the standard cancellation fees listed above. Please reach out to us if you have specific questions.

    • Please note that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation if the trip plans change due to "COVID-19" or other "force majeure” - meaning events outside our control which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. In the event that the trip cannot run, we will endeavor to reimburse participants based on refunds that we are able to obtain from the group bookings and local suppliers.

    • Your insurance should cover cancellation costs from the date of booking, as well as medical expenses (including evacuation and repatriation) for the duration of the trip.

  • Insurance and Travel Requirements:

    • If you are a current Pratt student it is essential that you meet all Pratt travel requirements. International students at Pratt please refer to the Office of International Affairs for travel requirements, e.g. I-2O signature. All students must complete any procedures required by the Office of Study Abroad including Insurance

    • It is essential that you have adequate and appropriate insurance coverage for your trip that meets both Pratt and Italy’s travel requirements. Your insurance should cover cancellation costs from the date of booking as well as medical expenses (including evacuation and repatriation). It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance coverage you purchase is suitable and adequate for your particular needs and meets Pratt’s travel requirements.

    • Due to the changing nature of COVID restrictions, we require you to have insurance and recommend that you get insurance coverage for your booking as soon as possible. Make sure your policy includes ’COVID terms’ to cover you in the event that you are not able to travel due to personal covid infection.

    • For vaccination and COVID-19 testing requirements, we will follow all official Italy-specific requirements to determine if and where participants need to be vaccinated and/or show proof of a negative COVID test. Please do your own research and we will alsodo our best to send updated information before the trip start date.

    • You must ensure you are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents before departure - including the proper visa and passport requirements to enter Italy. All costs incurred in obtaining such documentation must be paid by you. We cannot accept any liability or responsibility if you are refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on your part to carry all required documentation.

    • You are responsible for all arrangements (and costs) associated with:
